The new ECO4 Scheme?
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO scheme) is a UK government-led energy efficiency scheme that promotes the reduction of carbon emissions and tackles fuel poverty. The scheme requires the UK’s medium to large gas and electricity suppliers to financially help eligible households become more energy-efficient.
The ECO4 scheme is the final part of an ongoing government scheme to support low-income households to create more energy-efficient homes. It’s all about energy saving, aimed to make homes warmer and household emissions lower.
The ECO scheme is free to apply for and we’ve helped thousands of happy customers secure free ECO grants.
Who is eligible for the ECO4 scheme?
The energy efficiency measures available through the ECO4 scheme are eligible to those on qualifying benefits, are homeowners or private tenants.
If a property falls under band F or G for energy efficiency, the grants must be used by energy efficiency installers to heighten it to band D or higher.

The ECO4 scheme explained
ECO4 is intended to be accessible to a wider range of people and those who live in fuel poor households. This next phase of the ECO scheme focuses on turning the least energy-efficient homes into safe and warm houses, on a much larger scale than that of its predecessor ECO3.
ECO4 aims to provide a larger range of funding for vulnerable households to improve the efficiency and heating in their home. There will be £640 million available to target support to those in the need.
