First Time Central Heating (FTCH)

Installing a modern energy efficient gas boiler & radiators can go a long way to controlling how much you spend on energy.

Energy Efficient Boilers

First Time Central Heating

If your home does not currently have central heating and is heated by another method, then you may qualify for a Central Heating Grant to pay for the installation of central heating in the property.

If your home is heated by electric heaters, electric fires, wood/coal fire, gas fires or electric storage heaters then these are eligible for replacement with an energy efficient central heating system.

IMPORTANT

To qualify for First Time Central Heating through the ECO4 Scheme, your house MUST ALREADY HAVE an existing Mains Gas supply.

First Time Central Heating grants

First Time Central Heating is available as part of the ECO scheme. If you don’t have a central heating system, or a system with a boiler and radiators, then you may be eligible for First Time Central Heating.

Qualifying heating types

  • Electric room heaters
  • Gas room heaters
  • Gas fire with back boiler
  • Solid fossil fuel fire with back boiler
  • Electric underfloor or ceiling heating (not part of an electric boiler)
  • Bottled LPG room heating
  • Solid fossil fuel room heaters
  • Wood/biomass room heating
  • Oil room heaters
  • No heating in place
A central heating system is a more reliable and efficient way to heat a house. Central heating systems are now designed to allow you to have complete control of when you heat your house and the temperature.

That means no more coming home to a cold house!

We are with you every step of the way. As long as your home has no record as ever having had any type of central heating, you are a homeowner or a tenant in a private rental, and anyone in your household is in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits, we can help you.

If you are in privately rented accommodation, the eligibility is based on your situation, not your landlords, though you will need your landlord’s permission to have the work carried out.
