What is the ECO4 Scheme?

The ECO4 scheme is a Government established scheme to help households achieve their goal of going 100% carbon neutral.

The ECO4 scheme provides grants to fund energy-efficient upgrades to homes reducing emissions, electricity and energy bills.

These grants pay for new heating systems like boilers, loft or cavity wall installation and other measures designed primarily to increase energy efficiency and reduce fuel poverty and energy costs.

Are you eligible?

Check if you’re eligible for a Government grant

If you own/rent a property that is heated with electricity you are very likely to qualify for a government grant. Explore the eligibility criteria below…

  • You are a Homeowner, Landlord or a Private Tenant

  • Household income is under £30,000

  • You receive income-related benefits

  • You have Electric Storage Heaters

  • Individuals who get income-related benefits

  • Properties with inefficient electric heating

The energy efficiency measures available through the ECO4 scheme are given via eligibility criteria. If you are on qualifying benefits, and you’re a homeowner or a private tenant, you are likely to be eligible for free home improvements.

 

If you’re a landlord and your tenant claims benefits, you may encourage them to apply for the grant, thus improving your property energy efficiency for years to come by installing electric storage heaters or fulfilling insulation grants such as free cavity wall insulation or loft insulation grant.
